Sasa Nifanye Nini?

From 2011-2012 I played drums for an East African rumba band called Rumba Kali. We played a couple of gigs and managed to play for the Prime Minister of Kenya. I have also had the good fortune to make music with one of the most talented vocalists I know, Hassan Bitchuka, from Tanzania. In July 2012, my good friend Damascus Kafumbe traveled south to meet with Hassan Bitchuka as he visited Frank Gunderson at FSU. There we recorded an album of songs composed by Bitchuka, Kafumbe, and myself, with other players from the Rumba Kali group (and star back-up vocals by Jaime Hammack). It was a fun project. Here are some examples of what we came up with.
