Documenting light

I have a deep appreciation for the art of photography, and the way in which photography deconstructs art. There’s something amazing to me about framing visual information in stills, reflecting on it–expressing subjectivity with a camera. I currently shoot with a Canon ESO Rebel T3i, which I also use for filmmaking. I tend to photograph mostly when on excursions that I enjoy, such as hiking, kayaking, and general travel, and many of my shots end up in my instagram feed. In addition to my Canon Rebel, I use a Canon PowerShot point-and-shoot for quick shots, and I use and my phone for capturing other moments. From each still a narrative emerges, one that changes over time, space, and perspective.

“Mechanical reproduction emancipates the work of art from its parasitical dependence on ritual.”
